***Vintage Hofner V3/173 Solid Body 1960's***
In very respectable condition overall for this vintage- this particular model Hofner was produced throughout the 60's as one of the maker's higher quality solid- body electric guitars, featuring triple pickups and effective Treble/ Mid's/ Bass boost switches as well as a 3-way selector switch.
Cosmetically, this V3 is in highly original condition, showing signs of use over the decades. The original finish displays prominent checking patterns throughout- as well as areas of light abrasion on the back of the guitar which have a matte appearance upon close examination.
Overall, there are light scratches/ dents visible across the whole guitar- however without any significantly deep imperfections. There is one more noticeable chip on the top edge of the left shoulder, as seen in the photos. The finish still retains it's glossy appearance predominantly, and the color of the Sunburst has aged to a fine vintage tone.
Functionally, all hardware is completely Hofner original- and fully functional. The neck is straight, the truss rod moves freely and there are no signs of repairs performed overall. The electronics are original and function very well for this age, without any scratchiness and with great output.
The frets display wear commensurate with use over the decades, with approx. 70-75% life remaining.
Features pearloid dot inlays set into a Rosewood fingerboard, which shows some signs of play wear.
The guitar has been freshly re-strung, and the action is setup to a comfortable low height, with heights of 1.9mm on top E- and 2.2mm on bottom E at the 12th fret.
The original tuners still function well, providing great stability in prolonged playing, without need for replacement despite being approx. 60 years old.
Comes with the original Leather shoulder strap in fine condition- as well as the original blue Hard Shell case which is very clean overall.
No tremolo bar as seen in the pictures.
In summary, a rare vintage Hofner with a quintessential vintage tone to be expected from these models, and a well patinated finish that tells the story of this piece of German guitar making history.

Recently been subjected to a careful and thorough cleaning process, electronics cleaning, re-stringing and action setup.
